Les Pays Basques with its verdant countryside and charming historical towns and renowned seaside resorts can be easily accessed as are the Pyrenees and the border with Spain.Surfing is a national and international passion around here. End of the summer the big waves return and competitions start, often held on either Hossegor or Seignosse beach.
At the busy port of Capbreton, many private boats can be admired. and a sea fishing trip can be arranged. There are also many opportunities to eat the fresh local catch supplied to the numerous restaurants in the area.Numerous sporting and leisure activities are also to be found in the many inland lakes within the forests.
At Hossegor the renowned inland protected man made sea lake provides a great venue for all types of activities sheltered from the Atlantic tides, as well as supporting some excellent oyster beds which permit year round 'degustation' with a chilled glass of wine at the numerous surrounding shoreline oyster bars .
Hossegor town is also worth a visit. With its busy narrow streets full of shops, restaurants, and a daily trader's market. There is also a central bandstand where you can regularly find entertainment during the summer months. A great place to just come and chill!
The village of Tosse with its medieval church called St. Sever is located about 10 minutes from the beaches of Seignosse and the Atlantic ocean. During the summer months there is a free shuttle bus service to/from the beach available from Tosse village.
We have many local amenities, notably a baker, pharmacist, as well as a well stocked mini- market and petrol station, post-office and cash dispenser are those which are probably most important to you. Additionally there are 3 good value restaurants in the village where a daily "menu du jour" offers great value.
Major super markets can be found both in Soustons and St. Vincent de Tyrosse, each under 10 minutes away.
About Chez 'O
Gitte and Charlie Offredi welcome you to Chez'O.
After working and bringing up our family in Belgium and the northeast of France for the past 25 years, we have now ended up here in Tosse where we hope to enjoy retirement and happy times with family and friends in our newly built house in this quiet Landais village. As we are both young of heart and love meeting new people we decided to open up our B&B in Spring 2014 and have enjoyed every moment ever since.
This is our home, so we shall be around a lot. As our guest, we shall do our upmost to make you feel welcome and your stay a happy one. Any help that we may be able to offer, we shall do so with pleasure. We want you to feel as good about being in Les Landes as we do, to enjoy our calm and peaceful house and garden as well as all the magnificent attractions which the area has to offer.
